Terms of Service
Last updated:
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Router, an iOS app provided by AJP Technologies ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading or using Router, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
This version of the Terms covers Router as currently offered — no in-app purchases or paid features are live. These Terms will be reviewed and updated before any paid release, including provisions on payment, subscriptions, and age verification at the point of purchase.
1. What Router Is
Router is a self-directed digital wellbeing tool. It intercepts your attempts to open apps you've chosen to guard, and routes you through a brief reflective step before letting you continue. You control which apps are guarded and how the app behaves. Router does not monitor, report to, or give control to any third party (including a parent or guardian) — see Section 8.
2. Eligibility
You need an active Apple ID and a compatible iOS device to use Router. Account creation requires signing in with Sign in with Apple. There is no minimum age beyond what Apple's own App Store terms require, but see Section 8 for how the app treats users it cannot verify as adults.
3. Your Account
You're responsible for keeping your Apple ID credentials secure. We don't have access to your Apple ID password or authentication — sign-in is handled entirely by Apple. If you believe your account has been accessed without your permission, contact us at aj@tryrouter.co.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of Router, except where applicable law gives you the right to do so despite this restriction.
- Use Router to circumvent, disable, or interfere with another person's use of their own device or its parental/family controls, where those controls belong to someone other than you.
- Submit false, misleading, or abusive content through the catalog submission or support/feedback features.
- Use the app in any way that violates applicable law.
5. The App/Website Catalog
If you submit an app or website to expand Router's catalog, you're granting us the right to use that submission to improve the app's catalog for all users. Don't submit anything you don't have the right to submit, or anything false or misleading.
6. No Current Payments
Router does not currently offer any paid features, subscriptions, or in-app purchases. If this changes, we will update these Terms — including pricing, billing, cancellation, and refund terms — before any purchase becomes available, and you'll be asked to accept the updated Terms separately at that point.
7. Intellectual Property
Router, including its design, code, and branding, is owned by AJP Technologies. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, in accordance with Apple's own Usage Rules. This licence doesn't give you any ownership rights in the app itself.
8. Family and Parental Controls
Router uses Apple's FamilyControls framework to detect and intercept app usage on your own device. This is a self-directed feature, not a parental monitoring tool — Router does not give any other person, including a parent or guardian, visibility into or control over your usage, and it is not designed to be installed on a device by someone other than its primary user.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
Router is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, about the app's fitness for a particular purpose, reliability, or that it will be error-free or uninterrupted. Nothing in this section limits any right you have under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 that cannot lawfully be excluded.
In the event Router fails to conform to any warranty that does apply, and you purchased it through the App Store, you may notify Apple for a refund of the purchase price; beyond that, Apple has no further warranty obligation, and any other claim is our responsibility, not Apple's.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, AJP Technologies is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Router. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded under English law.
11. Termination
You can stop using Router and delete your account at any time — see the privacy policy for what happens to your data when you do. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, including the acceptable use provisions in Section 4.
12. Apple as a Third Party
You acknowledge that these Terms are between you and AJP Technologies only, not Apple, and Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for Router. You and we both acknowledge that Apple, and Apple's subsidiaries, are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and Apple has the right to enforce them against you.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be flagged in the app. Continued use of Router after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rights you have in your country of residence.
